Lapunne Ltd ("we", "us") is the controller of personal information collected through lapunne.com. Our details are at the end of this page.
This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
When you contact us. Whatever you provide through our forms or by email. This usually includes your name and contact details, information about your property and the project you're considering, and anything else you choose to tell us. Some of our forms ask more specific questions where they help us understand a project properly, such as questions about a purchase in progress.
When you become a client. The information needed to deliver the project, including correspondence, drawings, surveys and records of decisions.
When you pay us. Where payment is made through this site it is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. Stripe handles those under its own terms and under the PCI-DSS security standards. We receive confirmation that a payment was made, the amount, and limited transaction details such as your name and email address.
When you visit. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs including your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. These deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies and without tracking you across other sites.
We do not have user accounts, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your enquiry to reply to you, to work out whether we're the right practice for your project, and to prepare a proposal if you ask for one. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you have approached us about a possible project and it's in both our interests that we respond properly.
If we go on to work together, we use your information to deliver the project and to take payment. Our basis is performance of a contract.
We keep financial records because we're required to. That basis is legal obligation.
We use server logs and site statistics on the basis of legitimate interests, to keep the site working and secure.
We do not send marketing emails and we do not add enquirers to a mailing list. If we ever do, it will be with your consent and you'll be able to withdraw it at any time.

Each holds information under its own terms. We may also share information with professional advisers, consultants or contractors where that's necessary to deliver your project, and we'll tell you when that applies.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
We may disclose information where the law requires it.
Where it's held
Some of these providers are US companies and information may be stored or accessed outside the UK. Each operates under transfer arrangements permitted by UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't become projects: two years, then deleted.
Project records: fifteen years after completion. Construction liability can arise long after work has finished, and we may need the record to explain or defend a decision.
Financial records: six years from the end of the relevant accounting period, as required for tax.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to stop using it. You can also object to our use of legitimate interests as a basis, and ask us to transfer certain information to you or someone else.

We update this page when our practices change. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
